As every year, IAB Spain, the world association for communication, advertising and digital marketing, has launched its E-Commerce 2022 study. The main objective of this study is to analyze the evolution and main trends of the E-commerce market in Spain. In this way, we can have a clearer vision of the current state of the sector and get an idea of the direction it is taking. Without a doubt, Marketplaces are a fundamental pillar within E-commerce and their presence continues to increase year after year, to the point that Amazon and AliExpress continue to be the reference for product information among users. Amazon and Aliexpress marketplaces are established
As we mentioned before, marketplaces like Amazon and AliExpress are established as the main search engines for product information. Neither more nor less than 6 out of 10 buyers go first to these platforms to look for products to buy online, above search engines like Google. Of this 64% of online buyers who use marketplaces as an information channel, 9 out of 10 buy on said platforms. These purchases have been made mainly through the computer, followed by the smartphone and the tablet.
The most demanded stores are exclusive online such as Amazon and Aliexpress and the physical products most purchased online in general terms are clothing, books and furniture. Some of the drivers of online shopping are cheap prices and offers, followed by shipping conditions, after-sales services and the trust that the platform transmits to the user. The acceptable delivery time is similar to that of previous years, being approximately 3 days. Taking into account that these are the most relevant drives for choosing an e-commerce, it is not surprising that Marketplaces continue to position themselves as leaders, since they take great care of these factors.
